Chattanooga Honored with Second Bicycle Friendly Community Award!
The League of American Bicyclists has renewed Chattanooga's designation as a Bicycle Friendly Community for 2005.  Originally recognized in 2003 as one of the first twenty-seven Bicycle Friendly Communities, there are now fifty-two designated communities in four levels: Platinum, Gold, Silver and Bronze.
It is time to start working now to earn a Silver Level award in 2007!
Our celebration begins October 22nd with Bike Friendly Week in Chattanooga.

Sunday, October 30: Undercover Chattanooga: A Bicycle Scavenger Hunt
2:00 PM at Chattanooga Theatre Center in Coolidge Park
The challenge will be a fun-for-all bicycle (and skate) based scavenger hunt that will begin at the Chattanooga Theatre Center in Coolidge Park and end at an undisclosed destination in downtown Chattanooga. Along the way cyclists will be visiting less well-known attractions and hidden treasures of downtown Chattanooga. At each location there will be clues, puzzles, and mental mysteries to engage and entertain while you enjoy a fun 2-3 hours discovering Chattanooga's less touristed side.
Teams of three or four riders of all abilities on any type of bike or in- line skates will follow a trail of clues to various off-the-map sites within the downtown area. A few of the more well known sites may be mixed in as well, but everyone may find a place they never knew existed. Once you find one site, you look for clues to the next site. It may be a puzzle, a riddle, a task, or who knows what. It’s up to the team to figure it out.
If you don’t have a team, don’t worry. We will match you up to one. Just show up at the Theatre Center in Coolidge Park well before 2:00 on Sunday, October 30. You will leave from there at 2:00 and end at — who knows where. There will be some prizes, some discoveries, and a guaranteed good time for all.
