The Chattanooga
Urban Area Bicycle Task Force (BTF) is a group of citizens,
government agency and business representatives interested in
transportation planning pertaining to bicycling.
Our Mission is to
devise plans and programs to facilitate and promote the safe use of
bicycles as a viable mode of transportation and recreation for all
ages and skill levels. Some of our key objectives are: to
promote connections via bike facilities, for example connecting
neighborhoods to schools, employment centers, recreation and
shopping areas; to promote education for cyclists, skaters,
pedestrians and motorists about their proper relationship in
traffic; to encourage the maintenance and design of roadways to
eliminate cycling hazards; and to identify and seek support for
bicycle initiatives.
